Living Heart Foundation sponsored the Detroit health assessment event held on October 30th. It was successful for both players and their spouses. The Detroit Pistons Performance Center was the perfect venue for the large turnout. The players had the opportunity for many screenings, including cardiovascular health, carotid artery testing, nutrition review, weight management, blood tests, and sleep apnea.

David Gergen oversaw the sleep apnea screening. Dave assured high-quality screenings with his vast experience in this industry he practically invented. He stopped by the Sanford booth with their Profile® brand protein bars and discussed their program, including a certified Profile coach, personalized meal plans, and intelligent technology to track progress.

Dr. Pomerance provided dental screening at the Detroit area event. She is a graduate of the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry and received the Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). She is an expert with the Vivos treatment for Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

Anjoo Ely, DDS, DABDSM, with Novi Oaks Dental, is a clinician and lecturer of dental sleep medicine and cosmetic dentistry. She is a diplomate of both the American Board Dental Sleep Medicine and American Sleep and Breathing Academy.

These dentists provided sleep apnea screening and other dental services to a large number of players and a few spouses. Both are members of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy (asba.net) and specialize in Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). OSA can cause insomnia, depression, diabetes, memory loss, stroke, heart attack, hypertension, daytime drowsiness, and early death. source: https://www.drollech.com/obstructive-sleep-apnea/
